Betwyll got the Finnish Quality Certificate by Education Alliance Finland, an extraordinary result for our startup.
Betwyll was assigned the Finnish Quality Certificate by Education Alliance Finland (EAF), the main certifier of edtech solutions in the world. An achievement of extraordinary excellence, following the acceleration path we made with xEdu in Helsinki and the launch of our first co-creation social reading project in the city of Espoo.
Education Alliance Finland conducts impact evaluations based on a global quality standard for learning solutions. Building on the expertise of a team of pedagogy professionals and on the international prestige of the Finnish education system, EAF offers an academically sound approach to evaluating the pedagogical design of a product on the principles of educational psychology.
A brilliant score
The Finnish teachers who assessed Betwyll through EAF awarded it with a 92/100 score for its pedagogical approach and, though it is still a minimum viable product, they assigned it a 3,99/5 score as to learning engagement. Two extremely encouraging values for the international development of the project.
In particular, the EAF evaluators found that “Betwyll offers a nice platform to discuss books with other users locally but also globally. The app allows for discussion at different times and everyone can participate when it’s convenient for them. Besides, with Betwyll it is possible to combine a reading project and learning different languages or about other school subjects. Finally, the solution joins collaboration to reading books in a new and innovative way”.
Furthermore, the certification report reads that, thanks to Betwyll, reading and discussing texts is a very active way of learning. Betwyll supports learning new things through creative tasks and collaboration and, for school use, the platform is versatile enough so the teachers can come up with various kinds of tasks. As to students, learning progress is not tied to the school hours or classroom context only. Betwyll is all about sharing and discussion. It allows collaboration within the same class, school and even internationally.
From today, Betwyll is included in the online catalogue of the edtech solutions certified by Education Alliance Finland. In the future, the teachers using Betwyll at school will have the chance to contribute to a further assessment of its features and pedagogical value through the EAF platform, allowing to improve its development and implementation.
